Another book based on Norse sagas, these seem to be getting popular. this book has a lot of detail and is a great book 5/5
It starts when Amma, a strange woman in the kingdom spots something on the shore. They find a baby in the boat and the king insists on letting him live. Rune grows up and everything changes when he spots a stranger who changes everything by waking a dragon.

Book reviews
Calico captive-
A book about English girl, Miriam and her family. Miriam lives with her sister, Susanna and Susanna's husband and family. When they and their neighbor, Peter Lawrence are captured by Indians, Miriam expects mistreatment and doesn't trust them, even when they are friendly and accept them into the tribe. She is later sold to the French and makes unlikely friends. 1/5, Not the best History fiction i've read, it was loosely based.

An ancient prophecy comes true when Rannoch, a red stag, is born with a white leaf-shaped birthmark on his head. He is hidden with Bracken, a doe whose calf was stillborn. She and some other mothers take their calves and run from the hatred that is being bred by Drail and Sgorr, the leaders of the home herd. As Rannoch grows, he runs with his mother and friends, facing obstacles through out the way.
